Data Systems Engineer
This role involves an initial learning curve to develop a strong understanding of the systems and processes. Once established, the work becomes largely structured and operational, with a focus on recurring tasks, issue follow-up, and process execution.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a routine-driven environment, enjoys working within established processes, and remains motivated by consistency, ownership, and delivering reliable results.

Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain business-critical systems and operational processes within a regulated environment.
Perform data validations, system checks, and basic SQL-based investigations as required.
Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and support problem resolution activities.
Execute projects where interfacing with other MES/MOM technologies is required.
Analyse existing applications and processes, including legacy solutions, to support enhancements and issue resolution.
Work within established change management procedures, ensuring appropriate documentation, testing, approvals, and compliance requirements are met.
Monitor and investigate data and system-related issues, escalating where necessary and following through to resolution.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure effective system performance and operational continuity.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and process updates in line with company and regulatory standards.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
Work independently while effectively managing priorities and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Technical Skills & Competencies
Basic SQL Knowledge
Ability to read, understand, and interpret SQL queries.
Comfortable performing simple data lookups, validations, and data verification activities.
Advanced SQL development or database administration experience is not required.
General IT & Systems Understanding
Good understanding of how business systems, applications, and data interfaces interact.
Ability to accurately investigate issues and follow established processes to resolution.
Comfortable working with system data and identifying potential inconsistencies or process gaps.
Problem-Solving & Debugging
Strong analytical mindset with a genuine interest in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Ability to investigate existing applications, including legacy systems and undocumented code.
Experience or interest in debugging processes and identifying root causes of issues.
Appreciation for working within structured change management processes, including documentation, approvals, testing, and change requests.
Professional & Interpersonal Skills
Patience: Able to work effectively in environments where processes and approvals may take time.
Adaptability: Comfortable collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, personalities, and communication styles.
Attention to Detail: Maintains a high level of accuracy while working with systems, data, and operational processes.
Communication Skills: Able to clearly communicate findings, issues, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Wishlist for a Data Systems Engineer:
Fluent Dutch language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or ICT, or you have acquired the equivalent level of knowledge through experience.
Willingness to work on-site at the customer location.
Understanding of, or willingness to work within, pharmaceutical industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
Experience in MOM/MES applications or AVEVA PI is not required but a plus
Knowledge in development technologies is not required but is a plus
Understanding automation systems (DCS, PLC’s SCADA and Batch Execution systems) is not required but a plus.
In possession of a valid driver’s license
You are a European citizen or have a valid long-term European work and stay permit.
